My love story with photography

Hi! I am Purvee Patel. My love of photography started in high school, in the days of black and white film and darkrooms, and carried on to college where I had the opportunity to explore more photo processes and develop a style and obtain my Bachelor in Fine Arts. What attracted me to photography was being able to capture the beauty surrounding me in the world and that I could tell a story with my images. It's still the reason I love photography.

On my first Mother's Day with my oldest, my husband took us to Great Falls for a picnic. I remember thinking how great it would be if there was a photographer there to capture us during this special time, just hanging out in this beautiful location, being us. It didn't take long to dive in and figure out how to do this for others. I became obsessed with documenting the precious moments and growth of my children. I wanted to capture as many beautiful memories that I could have times that pass by way too fast with my family. My family is my everything! I have taken thousands of pictures- I like to think of the photographs of me and my loved ones as my little photo den. I hope that I can create a den of memories for your family too.

Before I became a mom, I was a special education teacher and also an art teacher during various years of my career. I love working with children and I love being creative. I love creating meaningful art for others. Those years in teaching really transfer with my family and school photography- I love kids! Seeing their expressions and capturing their personalities is one of the favorite things about my photography.

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever… It remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."
